Consideration, discussion and possible action related to the
2013-2014 budget
Superintendent
Eddie Coulson and Deputy Superintendent Glynn Walker reported and led
discussion regarding the 2013-2014 budget.
Administration wants feedback from the board as to how we should be
spending monies in the fund balance. The
fund balance does allow some flexibility.
A presentation consisting of the history of fund balance, comparisons to
other districts, benefits information, and the salary market was made. Administration wanted to generate discussion
and to give the Trustees a first look at the budget and to get a comfort level
of how the board feels about a deficit budget and to what amount. President Valerie Jochen proposed that the
Trustees schedule a workshop to have a philosophical discussion about “sacred
cows” and then give guidance to the Administration. Discussion occurred.
