Workshop Meeting Minutes

February 20, 2014 at 4:00 p.m.

A.  CALL TO ORDER

President Valerie Jochen called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.

B.  WELCOME/QUORUM

All seven board members were present:  President Valerie Jochen, Vice President Paul Dorsett, Secretary Jeff Harris, and Trustees Carol Barrett, Kimberly McAdams, Quinn Williams, and Michael Wesson.

C.  WORKSHOP SESSION

C-1.  Consideration, discussion and possible action related to a Superintendent search and selection process

Dr. Valerie Jochen, Board President, announced that the trustees would be working in executive session this afternoon with an agenda that includes:  past experiences, how to gather community input, superintendent profile, search firm options, and next steps and  next meeting.

D.  EXECUTIVE SESSION

D-1.  The Board will meet in executive session to conduct a closed meeting to deliberate the appointment, employment, evaluation, reassignment, duties, discipline, or dismissal of a public officer or employee.  The executive session deliberations will be held pursuant to the “Personnel Matters; Closed Meeting” exception to the Texas Open Meetings Act as set forth in Section 551.074 of the Texas Government Code.

The Board went into executive session at 4:04 p.m.

E.  OPEN SESSION

F.  ADJOURN

Without objection President Jochen adjourned the meeting at 6:00 p.m.
