CALL TO ORDER
President
Randall Pitcock called the meeting to order at 6:45 p.m. and declared a quorum
was present with seven members present.
B.
DECLARATION OF QUORUM
In
attendance were President Randall Pitcock, Vice President Valerie Jochen, Secretary
Paul Dorsett, and Trustees Carol Barrett, Charlotte Slack, Garland Watson and Jeff
Harris.

RECEIVE A REPORT AND PUBLIC INPUT RELATED TO CSISD ACADEMIC
EXCELLENCE INDICATOR SYSTEM DATA FOR THE 2009-2010 School YEAR
Deputy
Superintendent for Administrative Services Clark Ealy reported regarding TEAs
Academic Excellence Indicator System.
Included in the report are: TAKS
results, completion and dropout rates, other student performance data, district
staffing and financial data, and measure of data quality (accuracy). Other information gleaned from this report
includes student performance in post-secondary institutions, report on violent
and criminal incidents, goals reflected in the Title IV SDFS Evaluation, and
Campus Improvement Plan Objectives.
Using
the data contained in the AEIS report and the Title IV Safe and Drug Free
Schools and Communities program, the district developed the following goals:

Decrease substance use among students
·
Increase parent involvement
·
Increase student achievement
·
Reduce violence in schools
·
Increase community involvement
·
Increase the number of school personnel
implementing SDFSC initiatives
·
Improve school safety
Districtwide
TAKS Performance by All Students is:
Reading/ELA-95% Pass, Writing-96%Pass, Math-92% Pass, Science-93% Pass,
and Social Studies-97% Pass.
In
an effort to end social promotion, students in selected grades must pass the
TAKS test at their grade level to be promoted to the subsequent grade: 5th Grade-Reading and Math, 8th
Grade-Reading and Math. 24.2% of CSISD
students were enrolled in advanced courses or dual-credit courses.
