SUBJECT: Yearly Athletic Bid RFP#3-019
Request for Proposal (RFP) #3-019, Yearly Athletic Bid for 2003-2004 was mailed March 6, 2003 to forty-four bidders and advertised March 16 and March 23, 2003. Thirty-three vendors responded to the bid, which opened April 8, 2003. The most responsive bidders were:

The proposal was based on a discount off catalog or retail pricing rather than item-by-item. The catalog method of bidding allows an award to multiple vendors and provides a larger product and supplier base for Athletics. Among the vendors awarded Athletics can review the catalogs and discounts quoted and select the products, which offer the best value to the district.
During the evaluation of the proposals nine vendors were disqualified because they did not offer a competitive discount, materials were of PE or poor quality or did not match existing apparel or equipment or past performance with the district was unsatisfactory. It is the recommendation of Mark Pantel, Coordinator of Purchasing and Jim Slaughter, Director of Athletics to award the Yearly Athletic Bid to the vendors listed above effective June 1, 2003 through May 31, 2004.
