SUBJECT: Track Replacement at High School
Request for Competitive Sealed Proposals for the replacement of the track surface at A&M Consolidated High School were mailed April 29, 2003 to three vendors and advertised April 26, 2003 and April 27, 2003. A pre—proposal meeting was held on May 1, 2003. Three vendors responded to the proposal, which opened May 7, 2003. The responsive proposers were:

Vibra-Whirl, LTD. $136,043.00
SRI Sports, Inc. received the highest score based on the evaluation criteria listed in the proposal. It is the recommendation of Mark Pantel, Coordinator of Purchasing, George Mc Lean, Director of Operations and Jim Slaughter, Director of Athletics to award this proposal to SRI Sports, Inc. for $115, 534.00. The proposal includes a contingency of $12,000.00 for any surface preparation work that may be required after the existing surface is removed. The project will be substantially complete and ready for use by August 1, 2003.
