A. CALL TO ORDER
President Marc Chaloupka
called the meeting to order at 12:05 p.m. with five members present.
B. DECLARATION
OF QUORUM
President Marc Chaloupka,
Vice-President Tim Jones, Secretary Mary Broussard, Trustee Steve Aldrich and
Trustee Dayne Foster were present.
Trustee Larry Johnson and Trustee Susan Lowy were absent.

AFFAIRS
C-1. Consider
Approval of Guaranteed Maximum Price and related contract authorization for
Construction Manager at Risk, Bartlett Cocke L.L.P., for the site package portion of
the Forest Ridge
Elementary School construction
project.
Mike Ball, Deputy
Superintendent for Business and Operations, welcomed the board, the
audience, Steve Aloway - VLK Architects,
Raymond Heath - Bartlett Cocke, and Ken Hutchins - VLK Architects. Mr. Ball reviewed background information and
clarifications to the Site Package as it pertains to the Forest Ridge Elementary School construction project. He also pointed out that this action, if
approved by the Board, would be within the scope of the overall budget. The Facilities/Finance Committee has reviewed
and discussed this issue and are supportive with their approval.
The construction of Forest Ridge Elementary School is planned in two phases. A site package has been developed which
includes the parking lots, portions of the driveways, and infrastructure. The goal is that by beginning this portion of
the project early, it will enable the work on the building construction to
proceed with a minimum delay for inclement weather. It will also provide hard work surfaces for
cranes and materials storage during the building construction phase. The bids for the site package portion of the
project were advertised to the public in accordance with state law and local
board policy. Various bids were analyzed
to determine the best value for the District.
The bid with the best value to the District is from Brazos Paving with
Bartlett Cocke. The guaranteed Maximum
Price on the Site Package using this bid is $1,325,817.

move approval of the Guaranteed Maximum Price with Bartlett Cocke L.P. for the
Site Package on the Forest Ridge Elementary
School
project in the amount of $1,325,817 and that Michael Ball, Deputy
Superintendent for Business and Operations, be authorized to execute the
contract documents necessary to begin the work as presented. The motion was made by Trustee Tim Jones and
seconded by Trustee Dayne Foster. The
motion passed with five ayes and two absent.
D. ADJOURNMENT
Without
objection, President Marc Chaloupka adjourned the meeting at 12:25 p.m.
