CALL TO ORDER
President Charlotte Slack called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
with six members present.
B. DECLARATION OF QUORUM
President Charlotte
Slack, Vice President Marc Chaloupka, Secretary Randall Pitcock, Trustees Garland
Watson, Tim Jones and Valerie Jochen were present. Trustee Mary Broussard was absent.
C. PUBLIC HEARING TO
RECEIVE INPUT FROM THE PUBLIC AS IT PERTAINS TO
THE PROPOSED ATTENDANCE ZONES EFFECTIVE AUGUST 2009
President Charlotte Slack welcomed everyone and thanked the
audience for their attendance. She
stressed that no decision regarding rezoning for CSISD attendance zones has
been made. An additional Public Hearing
to receive input pertaining to the proposed attendance zones effective August
2009 is scheduled for Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 5:30 p.m.
at the Lincoln Center.
Superintendent Eddie Coulson recognized Executive Director for
Accountability and Planning Clark Ealy who presented information regarding the
proposed attendance zones to be effective August 2009 if approved by the Board
of Trustees.
1. Susan Woodard, citizen,
addressed the Trustees, opposing the proposed attendance zones as they pertain
to the Rock Prairie Elementary attendance zones.
2. James Roth, citizen,
addressed the Trustees, opposing the proposed attendance zones as they pertain
to the Rock Prairie Elementary attendance zones.
3. Britta Wright, citizen,
addressed the Trustees, opposing the proposed attendance zones as they pertain
to the Forest Ridge Elementary attendance zones.
4. James Weatherby, citizen, addressed the Trustees, opposing the
proposed attendance zones as they pertain to the Rock Prairie Elementary
attendance zones.
5. Shaye
Murphy, citizen, addressed the Trustees opposing the proposed attendance zones
as they pertain to the Forest Ridge Elementary attendance zones.
6. Meleah
Steelman, citizen, addressed the Trustees opposing the
proposed attendance zones as they pertain to the Rock Prairie Elementary
attendance zones.
7. Marcus Hantla, citizen, addressed the Trustees opposing the
proposed attendance zones as they pertain to the Forest Ridge Elementary
attendance zones.
8. Wendy Shaffer, citizen,
addressed the Trustees opposing the proposed attendance zones as they pertain
to the Rock Prairie Elementary attendance zones.
9. Anita James, citizen,
addressed the Trustees opposing the proposed attendance zones as they pertain
to the Forest Ridge Elementary attendance zones.
10. Samuel Langhoff, citizen, addressed
the Trustees opposing the proposed attendance zones as they pertain to the Rock
Prairie Elementary attendance zones.
11. Karin Doerr, citizen, addressed the
Trustees opposing the proposed attendance zones as they pertain to the volume
of low SES students projected to be at Southwood Valley Elementary for the
2009-2010 school year.
12. Tracey Adams, citizen, addressed the Trustees opposing the
proposed attendance zones as they pertain to the volume of low SES students
projected to be at Southwood Valley Elementary for the 2009-2010 school year.
D. ADJOURNMENT
MOTION 4010: I move to adjourn. The
motion was made by Trustee Tim Jones and seconded by Vice President Marc
Chaloupka. The motion passed with six
ayes and zero nos. There was one
absence.
President Slack adjourned the meeting at 6:25 p.m.
