CALL TO ORDER
President Charlotte Slack called the meeting to order at 5:34 p.m.
with seven members present.
B. DECLARATION OF QUORUM
President Charlotte
Slack, Vice President Marc Chaloupka, Secretary Randall Pitcock, Trustees
Garland Watson, Tim Jones, Valerie Jochen and Mary Broussard were present.
C. PUBLIC HEARING TO
RECEIVE INPUT FROM THE PUBLIC AS IT PERTAINS TO THE PROPOSED ATTENDANCE ZONES
EFFECTIVE AUGUST 2009
President Charlotte Slack welcomed everyone and thanked the
audience for their attendance. She
stressed that no decision regarding rezoning for CSISD attendance zones has
been made.
Superintendent Eddie Coulson recognized Executive Director for
Accountability and Planning Clark Ealy who presented information regarding the
proposed attendance zones to be effective August 2009 if approved by the Board
of Trustees.
1. James Roth, citizen,
addressed the Trustees opposing the proposed attendance zone recommendation as
it pertains to the Rock Prairie Elementary attendance zone.
2. Dori
Evans, citizen, addressed the Trustees opposing the proposed attendance zone
recommendation as it pertains to the Forest Ridge Elementary attendance zone.
3. Tom Taylor, citizen,
addressed the Trustees opposing the proposed attendance zone recommendation as
it pertains to the Rock Prairie Elementary attendance zone.
4. Ben Hailey, citizen,
addressed the Trustees opposing the proposed attendance zone recommendation as
it pertains to the Rock Prairie Elementary attendance zone.
5. Mike Donaldson, citizen,
addressed the Trustees opposing the proposed attendance zone recommendation as
it pertains to the Rock Prairie Elementary attendance zone.
6. Roland Schweitzer,
citizen, addressed the Trustees opposing the proposed attendance zones as they
pertain to the volume of low SES students projected to be at Southwood Valley
Elementary for the 2009-2010 school year.
7. Kathleen Seaton,
citizen, said that her concerns were answered in the presentation.
8. Jason Schubert, citizen,
addressed the Trustees opposing the proposed attendance zones as they pertain
to the Rock Prairie Elementary attendance zone.
9. Elizabeth Puller, citizen,
addressed the Trustees opposing the proposed attendance zones as they pertain
to the Rock Prairie Elementary attendance zone.
10. Steve Puller, citizen, addressed the Trustees opposing the
proposed attendance zones as they pertain to the Rock Prairie Elementary
attendance zone.
11. Susan Woodard, citizen, addressed the Trustees opposing the
proposed attendance zones as they pertain to the Rock Prairie Elementary
attendance zone. Ms. Woodard also
presented the Trustees with a petition of 110 signatures to stop the annexation
to Southwood Valley Elementary School.
12. Carl Drost, citizen, addressed the
Trustees opposing the proposed attendance zones as they pertain to splitting
the Shenandoah neighborhood.
13. Brad Bishop, citizen,
addressed the Trustees regarding middle school student transporation.
D. ADJOURNMENT
Without objection, President Slack adjourned the meeting at 6:40
