A. CALL TO ORDER President Susan Lowy called the meeting to order at 1:10 p.m. B. DECLARATION OF QUORUM President Susan Lowy, Vice President Marc Chaloupka, Secretary Dayne Foster and Trustees Steve Aldrich and Tim Jones were present. Trustees Mary Broussard and Larry Johnson were absent. Secretary Dayne Foster left at 1:30 p.m. C. CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION 1. Consider Approval of Student Code of Conduct Greg McIntyre, Director of Personnel and Pupil Services, presented the draft Student Code of Conduct to the Board for review. MOTION 3267: I move approval of the Student Code of Conduct as presented. The motion was made by Tim Jones and seconded by Marc Chaloupka. The motion carried with five ayes. D. BUSINESS AFFAIRS 1. Consider Approval of Chapter 41 Agreement Mike Ball, Deputy Superintendent for Business and Operations presented the Board with the Chapter 41 Agreement to Purchase Attendance Credits from the State. This item was tabled until the next meeting in order to consider the Chapter 41 Agreement at the same time that the Chapter 41 Election is ordered. 2. Receive Report on Insurance Benefit Package Mr. Ball reported to the Board regarding the proposed employee insurance benefit package for 2001 - 2002. There will be a 15 percent increase in the premiums for the coming year. In addition, there is a $600,000 deficit in the insurance fund that the administration is proposing to cover with funds from the general fund. Trustee Tim Jones wanted to communicate to the District staff that the $400,000 increase in district provided insurance benefits was equivalent to a one-percent salary increase.
MOTION 3268: I move to adjourn the meeting. The motion was made by Marc Chaloupka and seconded by Steve Aldrich. The motion carried with four ayes. Without objection, President Lowy adjourned the meeting at 1:37 p.m.
