A. CALL TO ORDER

President Susan Lowy called the meeting to order at 12:24 p.m.

B. DECLARATION OF QUORUM

President Susan Lowy, Vice President Marc Chaloupka, and Trustees Steve Aldrich and Tim Jones were present. Secretary Dayne Foster and Trustees Mary Broussard and Larry Johnson were absent.

C. BUSINESS AFFAIRS

1. Consider Approval of Chapter 41 Agreement

Mike Ball, Deputy Superintendent for Business and Operations presented the Board with the Chapter 41 Agreement to Purchase Attendance Credits from the State. This item was tabled at the August 2, 2001 Special Board Meeting.

MOTION 3270: I move approval of the Chapter 41 Agreement. The motion was made by Steve Aldrich and seconded by Marc Chaloupka. The motion carried with four ayes.

2. Consider Approval of Memorandum of Understanding Regarding the Brazos County Juvenile Justice Alternative Education Program

Dr. Steve Johnson reported to the Board regarding the Memorandum of Understanding for the JJAEP. The JJAEP will be for mandatory expulsions only as defined by Chapter 41 of the Texas Education Code and all costs of operation will be the responsibility of Brazos County.

MOTION 3271: I move approval of the MOU as presented. The motion was made by Tim Jones and seconded by Marc Chaloupka. The motion carried with four ayes.

D. ELECTION ITEMS

1. Consider Approval of Election Order for September 22, 2001 Election

Mr. Ball presented the Election Order for the September 22, 2001 Election to the Board and read it into the record in full.

MOTION 3272: I move approval of the Election Order. The motion was made by Steve Aldrich and seconded by Tim Jones. The motion carried with four ayes.

E. ADJOURNMENT

Without objection, President Lowy adjourned the meeting at 12:45 p.m.
