A. CALL TO ORDER President Susan Lowy called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. B. DECLARATION OF QUORUM President Susan Lowy, Vice President Marc Chaloupka, Secretary Dayne Foster, and Trustees Tim Jones, Larry Johnson, Mary Broussard and Steve Aldrich were present. C. PUBLIC HEARING TO DISCUSS APPLICATION FOR SCHOOL START DATE WAIVER 1. School Start Date Waiver Application for the First Day of Instruction Eddie Coulson, Deputy Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Personnel discussed the school start date waiver application process. CSISD is proposing a start date of August 14, 2002 for the 2002 - 2003 school year. Mr. Coulson also discussed the calendar adoption process for the District. 2. Hearing of Citizens Mark Hurt, parent, discussed his disapproval with the calendar adoption process and the lack of public input on the start date waiver. Judy LeUnes, CSEA and Oakwood PAC representative, discussed her support of the waiver and calendar adoption process. Marsha Herron, parent, discussed the benefits of having finals before winter break and her support of the waiver. Mary Jones, teacher, discussed her support of the waiver and calendar adoption process. D. ADJOURNMENT MOTION 3324: I move to adjourn the meeting. The motion was made by Steve Aldrich and seconded by Tim Jones. The motion carried with seven ayes. Without objection, President Lowy adjourned the meeting at 6:20 p.m.
