A. CALL TO ORDER President Susan Lowy called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m. B. DECLARATION OF QUORUM President Susan Lowy, Vice President Marc Chaloupka, Trustees Tim Jones, Mary Broussard and Steve Aldrich were present. Secretary Dayne Foster arrived at 6:05 p.m. Trustee Tim Jones left at 6:25 p.m. Trustee Larry Johnson was absent. C. WORKSHOP SESSION Mike Ball, Deputy Superintendent for Business and Operations presented the Board with a preliminary 2002-03 budget. The administration plans to submit a balanced budget with a 3% salary increase for all employees to the Board this summer. Trustee Tim Jones asked for an additional column on future handouts regarding the budget that would show the previous year's totals for comparison and discussion. 2. TASB Legislative Advisory Committee Update Marc Chaloupka and Steve Aldrich attended the TASB Legislative Advisory Committee on April 13, 2002. A list of Position Statements was distributed and they are seeking input as to priorities for CSISD. They will attend a follow-up meeting of the Council on May 18, 2002 to finalize the top 20 selections. 3. Consideration of sole source purchase of NovaNet software and hardware to be funded by the 9th Grade Success Initiative Grant. Mike Ball, Deputy Superintendent for Business and Operations, presented information regarding the purchase of NovaNet software and hardware. MOTION 3341: I move to approve the purchase of NovaNet software and hardware to be funded by the 9th Grade Success Initiative Grant. The motion was made by Steve Aldrich and seconded by Tim Jones. The motion carried with six ayes. D. ADJOURNMENT MOTION 3342: I move to adjourn the meeting. The motion was made by Steve Aldrich and seconded by Mary Broussard. The motion carried with five ayes.
