A. CALL TO ORDER President Susan Lowy called the meeting to order at 12:03 p.m. B. DECLARATION OF QUORUM President Susan Lowy, Vice President Marc Chaloupka, Secretary Dayne Foster, Trustees Tim Jones, Mary Broussard and Larry Johnson were present. Trustee Steve Aldrich arrived at 12:15 p.m. C. ELECTION ITEMS 1. Canvass Returns of May 4, 2002 Board of Trustees Election Shannon Sanders,
Election Coordinator, read the results of the May 4, 2002 Board of Trustees
Election into the record. Steve Aldrich ran unopposed for School Board
of Trustees, Place 7 and was reelected with 2,532 votes, 100.00% of the
votes cast. Susan W. Lowy was reelected to the School Board of Trustees,
Place 6 with 2,001 votes, 59.98% of the votes cast. Vote totals for Place
6 were as follows: 2. Consider Approval of Canvass and Order Declaring Results MOTION 3343: I move approval of the Canvass of Election Results. The motion was made by Larry Johnson and seconded by Marc Chaloupka. The motion carried with six ayes. MOTION 3344: I move approval of the Order Declaring Results. The motion was made by Marc Chaloupka and seconded by Tim Jones. The motion carried with six ayes. 3. Discussion regarding reorganization of the Board Reorganization of the Board was discussed. This item will be finalized at the May 20, 2002 Regular Board Meeting. D. CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION 1. Discussion regarding Safety forum Clark Ealy, Director for Program Assessment, Evaluation & Accountability, presented a brief summary outlining safety survey feedback in preparation for the district-wide Safety Forum scheduled for May 16th at Southwood Valley Elementary School. Publicity for the event was discussed and is already underway. The decision was made to electronically allow for input from students, parents, concerned citizens, etc. regarding safety by placing the safety survey form on the website. The opportunity for feedback via the website would be available now through May 20, 2002. E. ADJOURNMENT MOTION 3345: I move to adjourn the meeting. The motion was made by Tim Jones and seconded by Dayne Foster. The motion carried with seven ayes.
