A. CALL TO ORDER President Susan Lowy called the meeting to order at 5:40 p.m. B. DECLARATION OF QUORUM President Susan Lowy, Vice President Marc Chaloupka, Secretary Dayne Foster, Trustees Tim Jones, Steve Aldrich, Larry Johnson and Mary Broussard were present. Secretary Dayne Foster left the meeting at 7:15 p.m. and returned at 7:18 p.m. C. WORKSHOP SESSION Steve Johnson, Superintendent, welcomed everyone and thanked Mike Ball, Deputy Superintendent for Business and Operations, and CSISD staff for the dedication and hard work that has gone into working through the budget process. Before starting the discussion regarding the budget, Superintendent Johnson stated that the Board Effectiveness Audit had previously been scheduled for Thursday, August 22nd at 6:00 p.m. He needed to let the Board know that he would not be available that evening. He had just received his class schedule for the Fall semester. The Board decided to reschedule the workshop. The Board Effectiveness Audit is now scheduled for Tuesday, August 27th at 6:00 p.m. Mike Ball presented information regarding three scenarios. Scenarios are not proposals at this time. All three scenarios are balanced. A discussion occurred about the publishing process of the public hearing regarding the tax rate. More information was requested prior to the August Board Meeting. Steve Aldrich requested information regarding 6% growth rate. Tim Jones requested information relating to leasing technology vs. leasing buses. An additional budget workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, August 6th at
5:30 p.m. MOTION 3377: I move to adjourn the meeting. The motion was made by Steve Aldrich and seconded by Marc Chaloupka. The motion passed with seven ayes. Without objection, President Lowy adjourned the meeting at 7:30 p.m.
